Compliance framework

Every copper transaction — KYC · AML · sanctions screened

AYYS integrates compliance at the transaction level. Onboarding, counterparty screening and trade documentation meet OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains and EU CBAM requirements where applicable.

KYC / AML
Full beneficial ownership verification. UBO chain documented to natural person level. Enhanced DD for high-risk jurisdictions including DRC and Iran.
Sanctions
OFAC, EU, UN and UK sanctions screening on all counterparties, vessels, flags, ports and transit corridors prior to any commitment or instruction.
OECD DD
Conflict minerals due diligence aligned with OECD 5-step framework. Origin documentation and chain-of-custody mandatory for all DRC and Zambia copper flows.
EU CBAM
Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism reporting support for copper cathode and rod imports into the EU. Embedded CO₂ intensity data available on request.

High — Supply disruption
DRC logistics constrained — Lobito corridor rail bottleneck
Copper cathode shipments from Kolwezi experiencing 3–5 week delays due to capacity constraints on the Lobito Atlantic Railway. Dar es Salaam partially absorbing volume at elevated freight cost. Affects CIF European price basis by est. +$28/t.
May 2026
Medium — Price driver
LME on-warrant inventory near 10-year low — backwardation at $180/t
LME on-warrant copper stocks at 142,600 mt, lowest since Q3 2014. Cash–3M backwardation reflects genuine prompt tightness compounded by slow Chinese smelter restarts post-maintenance season. AYYS prompt availability limited to confirmed allotments.
